Here is a time lapse of a 8 Meter diameter dome that I built for a client in Turkey 9 years ago. Perhaps some of you may find it interesting / inspiring. This was my first one, to see my most recently completed build please go to the showcase section. Best wishes to one & all.
If you are struggling with a technical feature of this forum, feel free to contact me. You can reply to this post, or send me a chat message. If you notice that something is not working the way it should, please let me know.
This is a bathroom that I formed and built for a client. It uses a technique that I coined "forming furniture". It is when the furniture, or cabinets in this case, have been poured into a form using scrap material as filler for consuming mass, then filled with liquid aircrete.

These are a couple of furniture pieces I have created in past workshops. By building a mold than carving you can start with a shape that can be wrapped in fiberglass and then stuccoed as a finish.

Here is another 120 sqft dome made in Florida. The client finished it with the tile. I love the idea of tile as an exterior finish as it water proofs and fortifies the dome more.
Here is a dome that I had the privilege of designing and participating in the build of a clustered dome home in Ensenada Mexico. This is a 5 dome cluster composed of 2 16' bedrooms, a 10' bathroom, 20' common room, and a catenary (egg shape) 10' kitchen. I am sorry for such low quality photographs but Covid hit before I was able to document and finish. I have posted pictures of the details I was able to document as I was working.9f97f7d0-918a-4109-847d-a7390262dade.jpg ![alt text](!4C4BF822-7CBC-45BA-9575-D7D44637F7A7.JPG 85FAD80E-49D9-4921-9F29-54894D514CE6.JPG IMG_6051.JPGIMG_6077.JPG IMG_6243.JPGIMG_6095.jpg
In the past, certain members of Domegaia staff (including myself) made posts using the @domegaia account. We no longer support such use of impersonal accounts by staff members due to the actual or perceived lack of accountability associated with using such accounts and apologize for any disease it may have caused. There is no feasible way to personalize the old posts and so they must remain as a reminder to us of what not to do.
Like all tribes, villages, clubs, and other communities, this forum has a system of validation which is based on upvoting posts. UPVOTES accumulate into what is known as REPUTATION. And that reputation is used to determine when certain PRIVILEGES are appropriate. This is part of the privacy and security system developed over time to create a functional forum environment for us to enjoy.
Making the first post is the biggest step toward earning reputation and privilege. A new user can ask a question, share information, or simply introduce their self. After contributing their first post, a user will be able to:
Use the chat system
Access the content of MATCHING BUILDERS WITH PROJECTS
Here are other privileges granted based on accumulated reputation:
4 reputation required to add ABOUT ME section to profile
5 reputation required to add PROFILE PICTURE to profile
6 reputation required to add COVER PICTURE to profile
8 reputation required to add a WEBSITE to profile
Users can upvote posts made by other users. The more posts a user makes, the more opportunity that user has to gain reputation. However, the quality of the post is also important. One well written meaningful post could gain lots of votes. Several poorly written posts could gain zero votes.
Validation feels good, and for a reason. Public validation builds our reputation. As our reputation grows we are entrusted with greater responsibilities and privileges.
The terminology used on this forum for validating someone's post is "upvoting". This term is used commonly by forums around the world. Upvoting is similar to clicking the LIKE button on a Facebook post. Upvoting tells the author that you appreciate their post and simultaneously tells the community that you vouch for the author. Upvotes accumulate or tally into our reputation score which is used to determine our level of privilege on the forum.
To upvote a post, click the up arrow at the bottom right of the post.
To downvote a post, click the down arrow. Keep in mind that downvoting also deducts one point from your own reputation score, so use these sparingly.
Domegaia strongly supports your privacy. At this time, full use of this forum with all features and privileges does not require your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information. In the past it was necessary to verify your email before being able to post onto the forum – this is no longer the case.
For those who choose to include their email during registration, please know that neither Domegaia nor NodeBB (the forum software and service) harvest any of your personal information. We do not sell or give any information found on this forum, including information found in posts and profiles, to any person, group, agency, or other entity. Verified email addresses are primarily used by the forum system for the benefit and convenience of the user for notifications and for resetting the password. In certain rare situations we may use the email to contact the user directly. Only Domegaia forum administrators have access to these email addresses.
We support your privacy by granting full forum access only to fully verified users. The verification process begins with the user’s first post. Users gradually become fully verified after several posts have been made and approved by the community. Web crawlers used by search engines such as Google, and users who have not made any posts are not able to view information in the “Matching Builders with Projects” category because of the personal nature of these posts. Users who have not made any posts are not able to use the chat system.
This forum runs on opensource NodeBB forum software and is hosted for a fee on NodeBB servers. Compared to proprietary software, opensource software has a reputation of being harmless, by it’s nature of being open for inspection by anyone at anytime. However, opensource software is more prone to cyber attack for the same reason – it is open for inspection by anyone, including malicious hackers, at anytime.
With the exception of the "Matching Builders with Projects" category, all content posted on this forum is indexed by search engines such as Google.
This forum system is not end-to-end encrypted. It is public knowledge, since 2013, that high-level government agencies illegally intercept, analyze, and permanently store essentially all internet activity.

My personal apologies to any non-spammer human who's account was wrongfully deleted in the Great User Purge of September 2021. My intention was to rid us of the thousands of spammer accounts, but I know that the accounts of many innocent were lost as well. If you are a spam bot or spammer human reading this, may you rest in peace. If you are a well-intentioned human reading this and your legit account was banned or deleted, welcome back and please create a new account if you haven't already. The good news is that we emptied the swamp. The new Domegaia forum experience is totally free of reusable ink cartridges, cheap airline tickets, and escort services. Let's go!
Practicing empathy and compassion is especially important when conversing in digital text environments which are void of vocal intonation and body language.
When replying to someone on a challenging topic, it's important to be in touch with where that member is at on an emotional level, as much as possible.
Our response may be accurate, correct, polite, and intended to help, but if we fail to connect with that person then what is gained?
Discussing aircrete, tools, and technique may seem all about logic and information at first glance, but at the root many if not most people are learning about aircrete in an effort to get their most basic needs met for safety, shelter, stability, and community.
Merriam-Webster defines empathy as "the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner. Also : the capacity for this."
Here are a few guidelines to help keep this arena enjoyable and beneficial to all:
When responding to a member of this forum, please do so with a little extra respect. Be honest, be frank, be clear, and be gentle when feasible.
Show gratitude for others' contributions. You can use written replies. Also consider upvoting their post (note the little voting tool at the bottom right of every post), or sending them a personal chat message.
Keep the posts informational, inquisitive, and useful. Minimize small talk, banter, attacking, or venting.
Flag posts that seem grossly off-topic, or contain spam (see the 3 dots stacked to the right of the voting tool)
