Aircrete with cordwood building?

  • I’m pretty sure aircrete would work fine as a substitute for spray foam or sawdust on the inner insulation layer of a cordwood wall but then I wonder if you could use less mortar because of the structural strength of aircrete and again I wonder if mortar could be eliminated altogether in some kind of cordwood slip form system where aircrete is the only other material. I figure this would only work if the cordwood wall was infill in a timber frame structure and was not load bearing but would these 8”, 12”, 16” or 20” walls be able to support their own weight? Any ideas about this or any other examples of aircrete used in a composite building material would be appreciated. Thank you.
