Voting, Reputation, and Priviledges
Like all tribes, villages, clubs, and other communities, this forum has a system of validation which is based on upvoting posts. UPVOTES accumulate into what is known as REPUTATION. And that reputation is used to determine when certain PRIVILEGES are appropriate. This is part of the privacy and security system developed over time to create a functional forum environment for us to enjoy.
Making the first post is the biggest step toward earning reputation and privilege. A new user can ask a question, share information, or simply introduce their self. After contributing their first post, a user will be able to:
- Use the chat system
- Upvote posts
- Access the content of MATCHING BUILDERS WITH PROJECTS
Here are other privileges granted based on accumulated reputation:
- 3 reputation required to add PROFILE PICTURE to profile
- 4 reputation required to add ABOUT ME section to profile
- 5 reputation required to add COVER PICTURE to profile
- 8 reputation required to add a WEBSITE to profile
Users can upvote posts made by other users. The more posts a user makes, the more opportunity that user has to gain reputation. However, the quality of the post is also important. One well written meaningful post could gain lots of votes. Several poorly written posts could gain zero votes.
