FOAMING AGENT IN COLOMBIA / LATAM
-
Hello
I have just started with aircrete.
My first step was to make some foam with a dishwashing liquid and a drill. In Latin America you can not get the recommended agents. I am living in Colombia, here there is no supplier for Drexel, Seventh Generation Natural Dish detergent or
Suave clarifying shampoo.
I took Axion dish detergent instead, which Domegaia recommends. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any instructions on what ratio to add water to this. I mixed 1:160. The foam became solid, but was completely liquid again the other morning.
Now I have several questions for the community:- How long should the foam remain stable?
- In what ratio should Axion and water be mixed?
- Is it possible to improve Axion with additives? Among other things, latex glue and vegetable glycerin have been recommended. Can other glycerine be used?
I could not find latex glue. Are there other suitable agents that I can obtain in Colombia? - Does anyone have experience with the Russian recipe
Rosin - 1 kg;
Caustic soda 150 g;
carpenter's glue 60 g
Water
I am grateful for any help Daniel

At the bottom of the Domegaia recipe page it says:
Where Seventh Generation is not available we use:
2 cups of Axion dish detergent
2 tablespoons of glycerin
5 gallons waterThe stability of raw foam exposed directly to air does not equate to it's stability within cement. Some foams are more stable in direct air contact, some foams are more stable when mixed with cement. Testing done without cement may be misleading.

I suggest using the Domegaia recipe to make Axion foam at a density of 95 grams per 1.3 liters and using that foam to make a test batch of aircrete. Once you have done that, you will have a solid baseline and a great starting point.
