Workshop grad joining community

Aloha everyone
The husband and I just completed the workshop at the Rainbow Bridge Sanctuary in Ninole, and are now preparing to build our own multi-dome home near Mt View on the Big Island
The workshop exceeded expectations, and am glad we didn't just jump in on trying to build our own without having that experience first
Now in the very early planning stages for what we want before taking the plunge on design
Looking forward to interacting with everyone during this process

@LeeR Congratulations on completion of the workshop and welcome to the forum.
As you begin to look at design options for a dome, you may find the dome calculator to be a useful tool.

@LeeR How is your design process coming along? My partner and I are going to a workshop at Ninole in February. Like you we are excited to be learning this building method. We are in Ka'ū.

Aloha and congrats on going to the workshop
The dome already at the Ninole site is from the workshop we attended last year - it was everything we hoped for and more
We even debated attending this upcoming workshop as a refresher and to reconnect with old and new domies
We had a target date of March 1, 2023 to break ground for our own dome complex near Mountain View - but, as happens, life intervened and we will be lucky to break ground by May
The design for ours will be a series of domes connected by arches
Off-grid with a biogas generator toilet system

@LeeR
Aloha e LeeR, Nice to make your acquaintance. My partner and I are also excited to embark on the aircrete pathway. Happy to learn there are other "domies" on island. Lets stay in touch. Perhaps we can offer some assistance once we gain some basic knowledge of this process. I've been practicing woodworking and furniture making in Ka'ū for over 30 years..Malama pono,
Thomas
