Package deal for the Little Dragon, Mixer and Bender!
-
Has anyone got conformation that their mixer was shipped? I have not got a new shipping label in my e-mail and the old one is still the same. Nothing has shipped yet?
-
My tracking says mixer was picked up by FedEx and will be delivered on the 14th.
-
Thanks, Mike. I have not seen any tracking on the USPS app for my package. Since I don't have a Fedex tracking number, I can't tell if Fedex will deliver on Wednesday, but I am glad that might be a possibility.

@FoamAir What type of cement did you use?
-
Hi Tim_D,
I found a smaller 47 pound bag of QuiKrete at Ace Hardware for about $10.00
The bag I got shows Type I/II, the website shows Type I
http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2041962Types of Portland cement
http://iti.northwestern.edu/cement/monograph/Monograph3_8.htmlThere is actually little difference between a Type I and Type II cement, and it is common to see cements meeting both designations labeled as “Type I/II”.
Hope that helps,
FoamAir

@Joe You can But foam floats on top of cement slurry and you have to move it to the bottom of the mix. That is real hard to do with a paddle wheel like that in a 55 gallon drum.
-
@FoamAir What about the issue of injecting the foam into the mortar mix if using a mixer purchased elsewhere? Can another mixer be modified easily to allow injection of the foam into the mix? I live in Chile, and a 110V mixer is not convenient at all for me, plus I already have a heavy duty 220V drill.
-
Yes there are other ways of injecting the foam. Put an extension tube on Little Dragon to inject it into the mix while you are mixing.
-
@hajjargibran OK, thanks!

@Joel
Hi Joel, sorry about the delay.If you order these plans:
DIY Little Dragon and Foam Injector Plans
http://www.domegaia.com/store/p29/DIY_Little_Dragon_and_Foam_Injector_Plans.htmlThey will help you upgrade your drill/mixer to be like the foam injector Hajjar builds and sells!
Plus you will have a backup on how to build your own Little Dragon or repair it as needed. May be good insurance to have being in Chile!
Hope that helps you!
