Cement production and CO2 emissions

We live in Mexico, where cement & concrete are the primary building materials, and have been researching eco-friendly alternatives or methods. I came across your website and was struck by the beauty and simplicity of your design. We have been considering the use of hempcrete, but as it does not have the structural qualities needed to create unsupported spans, it cannot be used with your remarkable construction techniques. My concern with your system however is that cement production is one of largest producers of CO2 on the planet. So while your system will use less cement, it is still using cement, unlike hempcrete which actually sequesters CO2. So, I am torn between the two materials. I did not see a discussion here on this and I am curious how people feel about this.
