Basement aircrete application? Metal stud walls
-
I am refinishing a basement.
I will be setting studs at 16” center.
Can the aircrete be used to fill the walls as insulation?
If so can it be pumped into the walls then can you use drywall?
Advice on process?

You can totally do this. Al Gore the american politician who made the movie "an inconvienient truth" did exactly this. This is not what i'm doing however. I wanted my basement mold and fire proof so i'm not putting in wood studs. So I too thought metal studs. but then I didn't see a need for studs at all after some thinking. Instead i'm making aircrete interlocking blocks (pretty side in the form of stone bricks) and legoing up the wall. No mold, no fire, no horrible drywall, and no vapor barrier needed. However if I were to use metal studs I would pour them on the ground as panels and then install them. I've done a panel pour with great successs this way.

@scottwojo sure you can, but have you checked hempcrete for this application? It's much more ecofreindly process and material.

@Ignacio-DHOME because I want to be as inexpensive as possible. Doing a whole basement would be cheap with foam.

Did you add any mesh? Just lay down on top of plastic sheet? How did you connect to joists above and cement floor below?

no mesh. Watch this guy to get an idea of what i'm doing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddedMmuj7xY Its basically this but lego up the wall. the peice of rebar at the top block is secured to the joist with a steal fastener.
