    • RE: Foaming agent woes

@zander Then Im totally confused why our aircrete lost 2/3 of its volume... We assumed it was because the bubbles popped... What else could it be? How long does it take for your aircrete to setup?

@joeboy You could try glycerine to make the bubbles last longer..

@gemniii Dont buy the Sodium Sulfate! its just salt. Aircrete Harry had a mixup in that video that has caused a lot of confusion Im seeing (for myself included). What is talking about as a good foaming agent is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (this is the product he has on the table to show) but the item he printed off Amazon is Sodium Sulfate, which is salt and makes no foam at all... You want SLS, it is more expensive but foams..

@brian-spooner Thank you for your well detailed response. We did everything you say here except that the air compressor was at 100psi but the little dragon was at 90psi. We dont see how this would make any difference... our foam weight was 3oz but the blocks of aircrete lost 2/3 their volume and the end result was crumbles you could break with hands.... So you have done this process and made good strong aircrete? Do you pour blocks or what?

@gemniii Did you get good foam and successful aircrete with your SLS? I bought some and our bubbles don't last longer than one hour... Would love any help from someone who has actually made aircrete. Thanks!

    • RE: A few newbie questions

@handydan What is your recipe? We have not been able to make successful aircrete yet and have tried many things form seventh generation to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate with sugar and gluten to try and make the bubbles last longer..... I would love to hear from you since it sounds like you have been successful in making aircrete. Thanks in advance

    • RE: Sodium Sulfate is not a foaming agent.

So what I came to realize is that in the video where Aircrete Harry discusses the 4 foaming agents and recommends SLS is that the bag he has is different than the product info he printed off Amazon. I ordered off Amazon and just ordered what was on his printout in the video. But the video is only Sodium Sulfate (salt) and thus I had absolute no foam. So I have ordered actually SLS and will see how that goes. It was great to realize the source of the confusion and now I have hope again.. It was so discouraging to have no bubbles at all...

    • Using accelerant for your Aircrete? Particularly with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate..

Has anyone used accelerants in aircrete? and particularly with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate as the foaming agent? Im wondering what kind of success people have had (or not). Also, if you have used it how did you add it to the mix? Aircrete Harry mentions it in a video and says it works well with the SLS but says something about it only working if he let the soap and accelerant sit in water overnight first.... but thats all he says and Im not sure why that would matter or what happened when he didn't let it sit that was not successful.... Thank you
