    • RE: 35'Diameter, 2 level/story, Half Sphere Dome In Canada

@Kintore I am trying to find studies with specifications on this. Heard there are tests that have been done way back in the 70s & 80s but I have not yet been able to access them. Think it was here: https://www.astm.org/ABOUT/overview.html

I also found a video of a home in Canada but don't think it used aircrete. Just straight concrete. Maybe this will help too. https://youtu.be/RoGuvvzHY1A
It is a beautiful structure. Have to really listen for the tid bits of information like I think she says the walls are 4in thick. Inside is coated with powdered marble. You DEFINITELY want to check out the "fridge". Brilliant.

    • RE: Building permit ever issued for an aircrete home in the U.S.?

@Altitude-High I found a couple at https://www.sungardenhouses.com/ that says they have not had any clients have problems but they are using actual architectural plans and buying AAC panels from http://www.aerconaac.com/ in Florida or in Mexico (see article--https://www.bft-international.com/en/artikel/bft_New_Aircrete_AAC_Panel_Plant_in_Latin_America_2470008.html)
My hearts desire is for the average person in the US to have the option of building aircrete dome homes. There are lots of tests that have been done on the dome shape of structures as safe but we need a specific formula to use consistently for the aircrete mix and the covering to push forward for approval in building departments.
I have hope and will continue to speak in belief that this can and will happen quickly. With yet another cat 4 hurricane on the way to Florida it is of up most importance.
Will let you know any new information as I find it.
Like the Go fund me idea and grant for establishing it's safety and credibility as valid for permitting.

    • RE: Aircrete casting

@Ignacio-DHOME Yes, we live at 4500 ft elevation and I am wondering the same. I have heard some issues are due to the acidity or PH of the water being used but I do not know how that would affect it. Is there a specific ratio of glycerin to use?

    • RE: Can this dome handle.heavy snow loads, much summer rain? Wet part of Idaho. No one.there in winter to take snow off.roof, walls. Will this work?

I have seen a couple freezer tests. Here are the links. Trying to find a testimony of an actual dome in snow load for you.

    • RE: XL Dragon not working?

That is excellent they took care of that issue. Let us know how it all turns out for you. We are very interested in knowing how it goes with big panels like that.

    • RE: Foamcrete walls anyone?

I would love to hear how that turns out. I was thinking a lego type style that fits together might work well? for walls I mean so you don't have to use the studs. Honey Do Carpenter did that to suffice local code requirements.

    • RE: Aircrete casting

@daniellefiroozi not sure on the vertical pour. I know a YouTube entrepreneur, Honey Do Carpenter, that I follow has had issues with pours and he simply had to keep changing the mix a bit to get it just right. He does offer a recipe for inexpensive and on one video he mentions he will be doing more research as others using the same recipe are not getting the same results. Thinks it has to do with the PH of the water. Could also be the moisture in the air and such. I believe most are simply coating with stucco mixes. I saw HDC use cement color mix in a raised bed he built. Turned out great.

    • RE: Equatorial Bulge

Beautiful! Brilliant with the rain catchment. I am curious as to how the aircrete domes are doing in earthquake prone areas so far. It is hard to see the actual inside structure of your buildings so I can't tell if it is the aircrete domegaia type build or different?
